About MagicBG
MagicBG is an independent, free, in-browser AI background remover built for creators, online sellers, students, designers, and anyone who needs a clean transparent PNG without paying for a subscription or uploading their photos to a server.
Our mission
We believe powerful image tools should be free, fast, and private. Background removal used to be a paid skill or a paid API. With modern AI running directly in the browser, there's no reason for that anymore — and MagicBG exists to prove it. Our goal is simple: give every creator a professional-grade cutout in under five seconds, without forms, watermarks, or hidden costs.
How the tool works
When you upload an image, an AI segmentation model runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly and (where available) WebGPU. Your photos never leave your device, never touch our servers, and are never stored. The result is a transparent PNG you can download instantly. We also publish original tutorials and in-depth guides on our blog, covering topics from Amazon and Shopify product photography to LinkedIn headshots and AI-generated image cleanup.
Who runs MagicBG
MagicBG is run by a small, independent team passionate about practical AI tools and open web technology. We are not affiliated with Adobe, Canva, Remove.bg, or any other image editing company. We don't sell your data, we don't track you across the web, and we don't require an account. The project is self-funded and supported by non-intrusive advertising.
Editorial standards
Every guide on our blog is written and reviewed by humans who actually use the tool. We test workflows on real photos, cite authoritative sources (Google, web.dev, official marketplace documentation), and update articles when specifications or best practices change. We do not publish AI-generated filler content, and we do not accept paid placements inside our editorial articles.
Advertising and monetization
MagicBG is free to use thanks to display advertising. We work with reputable ad networks that comply with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework and applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA). Ads are clearly separated from editorial content. We never let advertisers influence the recommendations or rankings in our guides. Privacy first by design
Because the AI model runs entirely in your browser, your images are never uploaded, analyzed remotely, or stored on our infrastructure.
