This Privacy Policy describes how MagicBG, a sole proprietorship operated by Hicham ELJLAIDI ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you visit https://magicbg.org (the "Service"). Hicham ELJLAIDI is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Images you process: It depends on the feature. The on-device tools — background removal, white background, resizing, cropping, converting, compression, marketplace image optimization, the color picker, the QR generator and the signature background remover — run entirely in your browser: those images are never uploaded and we have no access to them. The AI features that require an account — photo analysis, listing copy generation, AI scene generation in Product Studio and the Complete Listing Generator — send the image and text you submit to our AI provider so the result can be produced. Those inputs are used only to return your result and are not used to train models.

Model downloads: To run background removal in your browser, your browser downloads the AI model and runtime files from a content delivery network operated by IMG.LY (staticimgly.com). That request can expose standard connection data, such as your IP address and browser details, to that host. Your images are not sent to it.

Log and usage data: When you visit the Service, our servers automatically record information sent by your browser, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, pages viewed, and clickstream data. This data is used for analytics, security, and improving the Service.

Device information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the Service, including device type, screen size, and general geographic location derived from your IP address (country/region level only).

Account data: If you create an account, we collect your email address, authentication identifiers, and (for MagicBG Pro) your subscription status, plan, billing interval and daily usage counters. We do not collect or store card numbers or bank details.

Payment data: Payments for MagicBG Pro are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your billing name, billing address, country, tax identifiers and payment method details directly, acting as an independent controller for that data. We only receive from Paddle a subscription identifier, plan, status and renewal dates.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service (performance of our contract with you).
  • To create and manage your account, provide MagicBG Pro, enforce usage limits, and handle billing, invoicing and support (performance of our contract with you).
  • To analyze usage trends and measure the effectiveness of our content and features (legitimate interests).
  • To display relevant advertising through third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense (consent, where required).
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse (legitimate interests).
  • To comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations and enforce our Terms of Service (legal obligation).

3. Advertising and Third-Party Partners

We display advertisements on the Service through third-party advertising partners, primarily Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide targeted advertisements.

Google AdSense: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ads Settings page.

Google Analytics: Google Analytics collects usage data such as pages viewed and device information to report website trends. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties except in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers / subprocessors: Hosting, database and authentication providers, analytics and support tooling, and advertising partners, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.
  • Merchant of Record (Paddle): We share the account email and subscription details needed to sell and manage MagicBG Pro with Paddle.com Market Ltd, which handles orders, payments, subscription management, invoicing, refunds and sales-tax compliance as our reseller and Merchant of Record.
  • Payment provider (Paddle): When you pay for MagicBG Pro, your payment and billing details are collected and processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd through Paddle's secure checkout. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for our orders and may use underlying payment processors (such as card networks or PayPal) as needed. We receive only a subscription or order identifier, plan, status and renewal dates; we never receive or store card numbers or security codes.
  • Professional advisers: Accounting and legal advisers where necessary.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Protection of rights: We may disclose information to enforce our Terms of Service, protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property, or the rights of our users or the public.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, the date you subscribed, where on the site you subscribed (source) and the date you gave consent, plus a hashed, non-reversible form of your IP address that is used only for spam protection. We use your email only to send you MagicBG updates, and we never sell it. To be removed from the list, please contact us.

6. Data Retention

Images handled by the on-device tools never reach our servers, so there is nothing for us to store. Images and text sent to the AI features are processed to return your result and are not retained by us for any other purpose. Log and analytics data is retained for up to 26 months, after which it is automatically deleted or anonymized. Cookie consent preferences are stored for as long as necessary to remember your choices.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Opt-out of personalized advertising: You can opt out of personalized ads from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings or the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page.
  • Cookie preferences: You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie banner.

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
